Ray Morton is an author and film historian who has published eight books on cinema history including CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND: THE MAKING OF STEVEN SPIELBERG'S CLASSIC FILM, MUSIC ON FILM: A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, and MUSIC ON FILM: AMADEUS. He has also contributed to numerous oral histories, including books on the STAR WARS, PLANET OF THE APES, and James Bond films. Ray has appeared in a number of cinema-related documentaries and contributed commentary tracks to several blu-rays,

Ray has also written scripts for film and television and articles for numerous publications. He as a senior writer and columnist for Script Magazine. and has worked as a story analyst and screenplay consultant for producers, professional screenwriters, and aspirants.

Ray's newest book is KING KONG: THE HISTORY OF A MOVIE ICON -- REVISED AND UPDATED EDITION, an expanded version of a book first published in 2005.
